Help CSPI Thrive

As a non-profit organization, Colorado Safe Parking Initiative relies on various sources of funding for our important work providing safe parking for community members who are unhoused and sheltering in their vehicles. Currently, over 75% of CSPI’s funding comes from government contracts and foundation grants – most of which come with significant restrictions on how funds can be used.

These restrictions mean that when a SafeLot guest has an urgent need such paying old parking tickets so their vehicle doesn’t get impounded, having an abscessed tooth pulled, or getting assistance with a rental deposit, CSPI can’t use these funds.

How Your Gift Helps

Your gift will offer more flexible money to meet needs as they arise. Sometimes it just takes a relatively small amount to have a big impact. Like being able to offer gas or food vouchers until that next paycheck arrives or steel toe boots to be able to take that warehouse job.

Any amount is welcomed but to put things in perspective your donation of:

  • $25 can be used for a gas card to get to work

  • $50 can be used for a sleeping bag or solar cell phone charger

  • $100 can be used for a car registration renewal

  • $150 can be used for overnight motel stay for weather or medical reasons

  • $500 can be used toward a last month’s rent deposit for an apartment lease
