Grace Sasser, MSW
Outreach and Engagement Coordinator
(she/her/hers)
What was your first job? My very first job in high school was as a certified nurse assistant for a person with a severe disability!
How do you connect personally with CSPI mission? I have worked with the unhoused population in Denver for the majority of my social work career and have seen how much homelessness has changed over the years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This required the social work field to alter how it interacts with people and become more accessible in light of a difficult situation. I believe that CSPI reaches people who might otherwise not access services and lives out its mission every day, which is a significant value of mine in the social work field.
What is your hometown? Raleigh, NC
Things you enjoy doing outside of volunteer/professional work: I enjoy spending time with my friends and going to the local farmer's market, baking, reading, knitting, going to concerts and hosting social events!
Do you have a chosen or pet you'd like to brag about? I have a small chihuahua terrier mix dog named Max and am lucky enough to have close friends from my home in North Carolina with me in Denver, including my niece and nephew!
